Description of the attraction
Café Gallery is one of the most popular places in Colombo, where people come not only to enjoy gourmet international cuisine, but also to admire the extraordinary interior of this mesmerizing place. The cafe is located in the former office building, which belonged to the world famous architect Geoffrey Bawa. On the menu you will see quite interesting dishes. These include ginger chicken, curried pork, and delicious dairy desserts, including palm sugar ice cream and cinnamon curd. All dishes here are made with fresh produce. Cocktail lovers will love it and there’s also a house-made non-alcoholic ginger beer. The prices are quite moderate and range from 400 to 1600 rubles depending on your appetite. The interior reminds one of the noble Japanese houses with an open terrace. Small pools are made in stone slabs with bowls of flowers floating in them, and the white stone walls are decorated with large mysterious paintings. Next to the wrought iron furniture, you can see stone sculptures in the form of a rough ball or a huge three-meter jug.
